With the big set piece finally done, I can write smaller chunks of the story. One of them is the fallout from regional TV featuring Wendy as the face of Noisy Creek, a town like some many others, which is being left unplugged in our increasingly connected world.

Anyway, without giving spoilers the attention made politicians do something, and that something is going to help NC and make Wendy some folding money. You’ll probably figure out what in today’s context-free excerpt.

Knocked out a good chunk of words today, proving (to me, at least) I can be productive when I have the time to actually sit and write. If I know where a scene is going I can hit 1,000 words an hour pretty easily.

That “time to sit and write” piece is doing a lot of heavy lifting, though. Like many of you I have a full-time job and plenty to do around the house.

Anyway, here’s today’s word count and excerpt. Currently at 99,492 words. So very close to the goal, so far from actually finishing.
