Greetings, fam. Back with another context-free excerpt and writing update.
If you tuned in yesterday you know I promised daily updates. So far, so good. I am writing a little later than usual today. It was warm, so I did the first mow of the year. I’m a middle-aged man living in the suburbs, so lawn care is a whole thing. Moving, trimming, edging. The first mow is a lot like a first draft: it’s not pretty but it’s not supposed to be. It’s the starting point for everything else. I may mow again tomorrow, dropping the blade a little.
Anyway, we’re not here for lawn care. Here’s today’s context-free excerpt.
Li Quon woke up in pain.
For a moment he didn’t know where he was. It wasn’t his apartment. There was green cloth less than a meter above his head.
He looked around and remembered. He closed his eyes and groaned.
Li Quon was camping.

If you’re wondering about the meter reference, the character is Canadian.
