No, you won’t see it on the news. It’s in my book. But our heroine gets interviewed while everyone else is out searching for a lost child (she’s running the radio and keeping a lid on the rest of the Cub Scouts, she’s not slacking) and what she says is going to change some hearts.
I’ve planned this sequence for a while. Naturally things changed as soon as I started typing, but that’s what the edits are for.
We’re at 95,111 words and I think I’ll need another 20-30k before I can call the first draft done. I still need to rewrite the beginning, especially the inciting incident. The one I had was serviceable but didn’t really set up the stakes if Wendy fails. The new one will be better. Fingers crossed.
It’s been a long time since I posted writing progress. Sorry about that.
Scrivener only shows the dates for when I actually wrote so the dates here aren’t continuous.

Negative days. Nice.
Here’s today’s context free quote, from last night’s writing.
Deanna considered, then asked, “You’re an outsider. Have they treated you well here?”
“Oh, sure. Like, when I was chased by that bear and it got into a fight with the other bear, they were already all out looking for me. Patricia found me out in the woods, and I’m so glad she did. I don’t think I could have run much further.”
Deanna was blinking rapidly. Dave looked out from behind the camera and stared.
Deanna spoke. “Sorry. What?”
I’m also going to try to do more with this tiny soapbox. I’m planning to review some things from Kindle Unlimited. Nobody can keep up with the number of books going up there, but I’m going to start posting reviews about some of what I read, or have read. Maybe it’ll spark some discussion, who knows?
Sadly, first up is one I am not going to recommend. I’m slogging through the end of book 3, and I hope I can finish that by tomorrow. Yes, I’m going to finish it just in case something happens at the end to redeem everything that’s wrong. (It won’t)
