What’s it like to be a werewolf? They’re people, too, right?

I wrote a couple of short scenes today, including one where the werewolves shift. Get furry? Mmmm, no.

This isn’t a monster movie where the cursed protagonist endures pain as their body reshapes itself into a mindless beast, doomed to hunt and kill. This is a community where everyone happens to share a specific trait. Yes, it’s supernatural. And mandatory, at least once a month. And yes, they do it in groups and everyone is naked. Does that make it weird?

Anyway, the scene examines a couple of issues you might not immediately think about, but that werewolf communities everywhere face. Issues such as, who takes care of the kids that aren’t shifting yet? Mom and Dad are going to be out chasing deer whether they want to or not. If everyone in town is a werewolf… problem.

And you have to take your clothes off to shift. This isn’t magic, the clothes don’t just vanish. How would that even work? Which leads to the question, what do you do with kids who are older and do shift? Think gym class but way, way worse. It’s a real issue.

Robes and sweats, the order of the day.

Throw me a bone here, people. I’d love to engage with you and trade ideas or chat in the comments. This basement is cold and lonely.

The only comments I’m getting are from the spammers I mentioned yesterday. (https://ryan-publishing.com/proper-prep-paves-the-way-to-powerful-progress/) There was a new IP address – with a Libyan registrar! Very international.

Libya is on page 124 in my super-fun-and-educational word search book Countries of the World. Capital is Tripoli, the official name is Dawlat Lībiyā (in Latin characters). The Human Development Index for Libya is 0.721, which is High.

Because we are such close friends (please leave a comment!) I’m sharing the Libya page from Countries of the World, available on Amazon and Ingram Spark. 275 pages, so many that I had to put the solutions online at my website in a really cool way.

Libya word search in honor of my attempted scammers.

She shook out her fur, sat back, and let out a real howl. She looked across the clearing. Only the oldest were still human, waiting to change until all the young wolves were done. Human Lillian would have felt a little guilty about not waiting with them. Wolf Lillian was just amused.
Time to find some deer.
